The future of Star-Lord may currently be up in the air in the wake of James Gunn’s departure from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, along with all things Disney and Marvel, but actor Chris Pratt still has quite a future ahead of him. Earlier this year, he led the billion-dollar-plus film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but don’t think Star-Lording and dino-saving is all he can do.
According to a new report from THR, Pratt is in negotiations with Warner Bros. to join writer-director Taylor Sheridan, known for his writing work on films like Hell or High Water and Sicario and his directing work on Wind River, in his latest untitled feature. David Heyman is producing the movie, which currently has few details about apart from that it will involve a black=ops team targeting drug dealers.

There is no word yet on when they plan on shooting this movie, but between Cowboy Ninja Viking and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 both being delayed, it looks like his schedule over the next several months is pretty open.
If he does sign on, this will see Chris Pratt returning to his dramatic roots. Yes, I mean that as kind of an overstatement/joker, but it can’t be ignored that one of his early dramatic roles was in the film Zero Dark Thirty, where he played a member of SEAL Team 6, so seeing him return to being a black-ops-type character isn’t completely insane these days.
