Christina Applegate Isn’t Confident On Anchorman 3 Happening

Taking a small break from Avengers: Endgame news, we have some from the world of Anchorman. Fans of the comedy franchise received a sequel a few years ago, and while it wasn’t quite on the level of the original film, it was fun enough, and fans enjoyed revisiting the characters.

Will the cast reunite for a third entry into the franchise? Cast member Christina Applegate isn’t hopeful that will happen. While speaking on The Actor’s Side, the actress had the following to say.

“I highly doubt it, at this point. Now that (Adam) McKay has got some Oscars on his shelf I don’t know if we’re going to go back and revisit Anchorman.”

McKay, who as Applegate mentioned recently won an Academy Award for Vice, and Anchorman star Will Ferrell recently parted ways professionally, on good terms, but it seems Applegate may be correct as McKay appears to be moving onto more serious projects. McKay and Ferrell have teamed up on Many of Ferrell’s most loved films including Step Brothers and Talledega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby. As for Applegate, she can next be seen in the Netflix series Dead to Me.
