Chucky Trailer Has Return of Serial Killer Doll to the Small Screen

Chucky television series

Will the real Chucky please stand up?

It was just a couple of years ago we had a Chucky film reboot with Child’s Play starring Aubrey Plaza and Gabriel Bateman. The original creator Don Mancini had his creative difference and took the franchise for an episodic series for USA Network and SYFY Channel. In fact, some of his loyal previous castmates jump shipped to go along with this venture, including Brad Dourif, the original voice of Chucky, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany Valentine, and Fiona Dourif to reprise her role as Nica Pierce.

Thus, the tone of the series is very familiar as relates to the cult films of the past. The Chucky television series serve as the continuation of Cult of Chucky, the seventh film of the franchise.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In the new television series, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos after a vintage ‘Good Guy’ doll turns up at a suburban yard sale. Soon, everyone must grapple with a series of horrifying murders that begin to expose the town’s deep hypocrisies and hidden secrets. Meanwhile, friends and foes from Chucky’s past creep back into his world and threaten to expose the truth behind his mysterious origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

Original creator Don Mancini wrote the television adaptation, directed the first episode, and served as the showrunner for the series.
