Peacemaker actor Chukwudi Iwuji cast in Guardians 3 reveals James Gunn. By the sound of things, this is a pretty big role as well. Or rather, Gunn says it was a role every big actor in Hollywood wanted. Gunn posted a cast photo with himself at the start of production on both Guardians 3 and the Guardians Holiday Special. Chukwudi Iwuji was spotted by fans and Gunn fessed up.

Chuk has indeed joined the cast. After working with him on #Peacemaker I wasn’t about to let go of one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with – so I gave him the role most every big name actor in Hollywood wanted. #TalentAboveAllElse https://t.co/ar2vYqRt5u

Of course, what that role is Gunn isn’t saying. That has not stopped fans from speculating wildly. So far fans seem cold on the idea of Santa Clause, feeling Iwuji is in Guardians 3, not the Holiday Special. Top theories include the High Evolutionary, a rumored villain that was once rumored to be Mark Hamill. Another is that Iwuji could be playing a big Marvel character like Galactus or even Silver Surfer. Off the top of my head? I could see Iwuji pulling off either role, but somehow Surfer just stuck with me for some reason. Bear in mind this is all our conjecture and we have zero idea whether either of these characters will even be spoken of in Guardians 3?

All we can say is that Iwuji is in the movie and his role is being hyped considerably by his director James Gunn. Peacemaker isn’t out yet, but Gunn was obviously impressed enough with Iwuji that he offered him a big part in his next movie. I do look forward to seeing Peacemaker as I thoroughly enjoyed The Suicide Squad.
