Clark Gregg To Be Digitally De-Aged In Captain Marvel?

Agent Phil Coulson, played by actor Clark Gregg was at one time part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moving from the big screen to the small screen, Coulson, continues to lead the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. As most of you already know, Gregg will be coming back to the MCU in next year’s Captain Marvel. Though the film won’t be set in the present day MCU, we will get to see a younger (rumor is de-aged via CGI) Agent Coulson back on the big screen. The actor recently spoke with ComicBook.com about his return to the shared universe.

“That was a fun call from my friends in the Cinematic Universe, who I normally see at these events, saying, ‘You know, we think once again we have some work for you, but it takes place in the ’90s. Can you go to the gym?’ Yeah, I said, ‘The ’90s? I mean, there is no gym that can get me back to the ’90s.’ And they said, ‘Well, don’t worry. We’ve been working on that technology, and we think we can goose you back a few years.’”

As far as returning to the MCU in the current timeline Gregg had this to say.

“I don’t know – that’s above my pay grade. I just show up where they tell me to show up. If the day comes when I’m no longer playing Phil Coulson, I’ll very gratefully bid him farewell, because it’s been an incredible journey, but I’ve learned that it’s best to just be grateful for where I am and make the most out of that opportunity that day.”

As most know, Agent Coulson’s death was faked as part of a plan by Nick Fury. Hopefully, at some point, the powers that be will tell Gregg to show up in the main MCU timeline. Until that day comes, fans will have to be satisfied with her appearance in Captain Marvel.
