The Clayface movie has been confirmed as set in the DCU by James Gunn, plus the first Superman trailer is rumored for this Thursday. Let’s start with the Clayface movie and we covered a rumor last week from Jeff Sneider that the film was set in the DCU. Well, this rumors has now been confirmed by DC boss James Gunn. Check it out. 

Exciting news out of @DCOfficial Studios today as #Clayface, a DCU story from a script by Mike Flanagan, has been OFFICIALLY greenlit.

So the movie is out 2026, when, we have more information below. My calculations make this the third DCU movie that will release. Now, it is a bit strange that Clayface, a character in Creature Commandos is getting a movie before, say Batman. However, as always we will wait and see. Fact is, DC are confident in the script. Gunn has said DC will only go into production on movies with finished, approved scripts. 

Deadline also confirms Clayface is coming Fall, 2026 and Dynamic Duo will be 2028. One must also assume the role of Clayface will be voiced by Alan Tudyk given he voices the character in Creature Commandos.

Now onto some fact and rumor mixed. Facts wise, we know that select press were invited to a screening of the Superman trailer TODAY. It would therefore make sense later this week it will be dropped on the public. 

Well, according to leaker Daniel RPK on his Patreon, the first trailer for Superman will drop this Thursday, December 19. Daniel has a great track record for things like trailer dates. This also matches with the original rumor from Jeff Sneider that said it would drop this week after the press see it Monday. So watch this space come Thursday folks.
