Clerks Construction Convo Canonized By Mando Season 2 Finale?

The famous Death Star conversation is Kevin Smith’s Clerks may have been made canon by the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian. A simple little conversation between an Imperial Officer and Cara Dune. The exchange involved the officer mocking Cara Dune by mentioning his delight in watching Alderaan being blown up b the Death Star.

Cara Dune then quipped back about the Death Stars being blown up, the officer quickly clutched his pearls asking her if she knew that millions were killed aboard the space stations. This calls back to an old nerd debate. One that played out on screen in Clerks. If you haven’t watched it, you can find it below. For those who have watched it, I know you want to watch it again.

Yes, it does make sense that the Empire would have to hire civilian contractors for a job that large. And I agree you don’t want to let Stormtroopers do any electrical or plumbing work, that’s just a bad idea. I understand the apprehension a contractor may have with taking a job from the Empire, however, I’d be more concerned with taking a job on what is likely the next target of the Rebel Alliance. Sure, just by the sheer numbers of workers, there had to be some innocents on board. Though I imagine most of the workers were more than familiar with the Empire.

Clerks is a classic, but this nerdy conversation is one of the highlights.
