Some rivalries never die. They may evolve, but they are never snuffed out. The last season of Cobra Kai saw an alcoholic, down on his luck Johnny Lawrence reopening the Cobra Kai dojo in an attempt to recapture his glory days. The man was on a positive trajectory, but at the end of the day, the corruption of Cobra Kai seems to span generations of fighters. This corruption looks to be growing in its second season.
In a huge reveal last season, John Kreese is back in town, and he’s taking over things, pretty much cementing Cobra Kai’s role in town as an awful and violent organization. In an attempt to help “balance” things out, Daniel LaRusso is opening up a Miyagi dojo, leaving Johnny Lawrence in a very difficult position right in the middle. Oh yeah, and there’s a bunch of teen drama going one in the middle of it, I guess.
Below is the official synopsis for Cobra Kai:
“Cobra Kai may have won the battle, but the war has just begun. Watch Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso pick up where they left off in Season 1, and train a new generation in the way of karate. But will their past get in the way of what truly matters? Catch a new season of Cobra Kai coming April 24.”
