Colin Trevorrow Donating pay From Rise Of Skywalker Writing Credit To Children’s Hospice

We reported the other day that Colin Trevorrow, who was once set to bring fans the final installment of the Skywalker saga, will still receive a writing credit, along with co-writer Derek Connolly on the upcoming film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Well, today comes some really cool news as Trevorrow will donate profits earned from his recent writing credit to the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice. Trevorrow said his generosity was learned from the Star Wars films themselves and franchise Creator George Lucas. Check out what he had to say to Deadline below.

“Through his films, George Lucas taught us about our connection to all living things. He taught us to take care of one another, and he set a powerful example himself. The Alexander Devine Hospice helps families in the most challenging of times. I can’t think of a more fitting way to honor George’s legacy.”

Below you can read what CEO The Alexander Devine Hospice, Fiona Devine had to say on the matter.

“The Force is strong with us. We are blown away by this incredibly generous gesture and we are deeply thankful to Colin for thinking of us. This extraordinary donation, the equivalent of paying for a nurse for a year, will really help us to continue to do this and importantly reach out to even more families that need us. We know that there are at least 1,200 children across Berkshire and the surrounding counties that need our help. Our care is free of charge and we are reliant on donations and fundraising to run our vital service. We cannot thank Colin Trevorrow and his family enough for their amazing support and generosity.”

What a super cool gesture by Trevorrow. As mentioned above he was set to direct the final chapter of the trilogy, which back then was simply titled Episode IX. He left due to creative differences. His next big film will, oddly enough, be the third and final installment into the Jurassic World franchise which will be released in 2021
