Harlan Coben works with Prime Video for the first time in bringing his thriller, mystery series Harlan Coben’s Shelter to the small screen. Adding a new character, played by Constance Zimmer as “Shira Bolitar” who we get to see trying to adapt to a new family responsibility she did not anticipate.

The Synopsis 

Harlan Coben’s Shelter follows the story of Mickey Bolitar after the sudden death of his father leads him to start a new life in Kasselton, New Jersey. Mickey quickly finds himself tangled in the mysterious disappearance of a new student at his school, Ashley Kent, which leads to uncovering unimaginable secrets within their quiet suburban community. With the help of his friends—the inventive Spoon and the secretive Ema—Mickey pulls back the sleepy facade of Kasselton to reveal a dark underground that may hold the answers to decades of disappearances, deaths, and legends … and perhaps even his own complex family history.

Constance Zimmer found appreciation for acting during high school and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. After appearing in commercials like Duracell she began doing appearances on various television sitcoms like Seinfield, The X-Files and The King of Queens among several others while also working on indie films. We know her from Entourage, Lifetime’s UnReal, ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Netflix BoJack Horseman.

Back in June I took part in the press day for Harlan Coben’s Shelter and was connected with Constance Zimmer and had a fun conversation to talk about the series. Zimmer discussed her character’s role in trying to keep it together for the new responsibilities as a sister that lost her brother. In addition to playing a character that is not in the novel and more!
