Corey Feldman Says He And Sean Astin Pitched A Goonies Sequel

If you’re like me, after the first time you watched The Goonies you hoped that hidden somewhere in your house was a treasure map that would lead you and your friends on a once in a lifetime adventure. Unfortunately, like me, you were super bummed to learn that there wasn’t a treasure map that would lead you and your friends to a pirates’ riches (if you did find a map, please tell me about it in the comments).

Corey Feldman who famously played “Mouth” in the film recently spoke with Us Magazine and revealed that co-star Sean Astin wrote a 10-page treatment for a sequel but the idea was deemed too expensive, you can check out what he had to say below.

“Sean Astin and I actually wrote a pitch, a treatment of about 10 pages that we took into [director] Richard Donner and a representative of [screenwriter] Chris Columbus and Steven [Spielberg]. We pitched it and Donner loved it, but he said it was too expensive an idea.”

Too expensive? While I have no idea what his pitch was, I would bet that the turnout for a well-made Goonies sequel would be more than enough to cover the budget for making the film.
