This one is a bit vague so far, so I could be jumping the gun covering it. However it seems a rumor is starting that Doc Ock is coming to the MCU. By Doc Ock, the implication is Alfred Molina could be returning. That might seem crazy at first but then Jamie Foxx is back as Electro and there are other rumors flying around. Some of those rumors have even suggested Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire would be showing up in Spider-Man 3 and Sony has done nothing to deny them. Could Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock be another piece of the puzzle?
The report comes from KC Walsh over at the GWW. Whilst the post itself could mean anything fans started to make guesses what this meant. KC then said,

Hence why I could be a little early in sharing this one. Even the source is not 100% sure, but hey, we all like a good bit of speculation. So the questions remains, if this rumor pans out, would this be a good movie for Spider-Man 3? Personally I’m not so sure, and I’m not that sure about the rumor in the first place. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Alfred Molina, but he has aged considerably since he was in Spider-Man 2. Do we need all these old Sony characters in Spider-Man 3? I’m not particularly excited about Electro, he stunk in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I’m not giving any weight to this rumor either way. I’m simply sharing the where this rumor began. Until this solidifies some more, I’d be wary of its validity. But you never know? Sometimes this is how these things begin and become something more. Let’s wait and see what else comes of this. In the meantime what do you think?
