Could Jackman Be On Board For More Wolverine?

Filmmaker and director of X-Men: First Class Matthew Vaughn thinks Deadpool 3 will 'save' the MCU, is he right?

One of the biggest stories this year was the announcement that Hugh Jackman would be back as Wolverine for the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie. In what had become a running joke of Ryan Reynolds harassing Jackman to come back as Wolverine apparently worked. Of course the last time we saw Hugh wear the claws was in Logan where the actor assured us that would be the last time he would be the famed Marvel character.

Well, it seems that all that harassing by Ryan actually worked and Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine for Deadpool 3. Details of how involved the Wolverine will be in the upcoming film will be under wraps. But some fans are wondering if this is a one time deal or could there be a possibility for Jackman to wear the claws again?

In a recent interview with the Empire Podcast, he was asked on the possibility of playing Wolverine in more Deadpool movies. While he did not outright say that it would be for multiple movies, Jackman did leave the door open and playing Wolverine in more films.

“I imagine every movie as a one and done, that’s how I see it,” he said. “I’ll be honest, I had a two picture deal at the beginning, but I still assumed it was a one and done. You know, back then there were no comic book movies, so I just take it one at a time. I’m lucky that way, I don’t have to think beyond that, but I think it’s the best way to go.”

On top of leaving the possibility of more movies, Jackman also talked briefly about the relationship between the two superheroes. It sounds like we will be getting a good cop/bad cop vibe with this movie.

“How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other. I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan’s] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.”

It sounds like Deadpool is really going to have to win over the rabid Wolverine to help him save the world, or city, or probably street. This little excerpt may not be a whole lot specifically about the film but just having the thought of Ryan Reynold dressed up as Deadpool and harassing Wolverine until he joins his mission sounds great.

What do you think about Jackman’s comments? Should Jackman stick to just Deadpool 3 and not mess with any of the other Deadpool movies? As always, share any thoughts you have below.
