Could the MCU Spider-Man movies be coming to Disney+? Honestly, that always seemed very unlikely to me. Sony own both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home and right now these movies along with The Incredible Hulk are the only MCU movies that are not on Disney+. It kinda sucks when having an MCU marathon, I need to turn off Disney+ and put in my disk for the Spider-Man movies, but hey ho.
However, there is an intriguing image which has showed up on the Disney Shop website. It has since been removed, but a user on Reddit managed to snag a copy of the image beforehand. In the Disney+ section of the front page, the image below could be seen.
Clearly that is Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now, this is not a smoking gun by any means. For a start, the reason the image is no longer there could be because it was a mistake and was removed before it was noticed. Though being this is the age of the internet, it was obviously noticed and shared by thousands in the time since. Or, it could have been removed because a deal to have these movies on Disney+ has not yet been officially announced? Either scenario is just as likely as the other right now.

I feel like The Incredible Hulk will never come to Disney+ because of Universal. However, Sony do not have their own rival platform. Sony do however have a partnership with Starz. This service is not available internationally so I know next to nothing of it. My instincts though, would tell me that Sony would make more money by having their movies on Disney+ than they would Starz. At least when it comes to their Marvel properties.
Disney+ would also be the most natural home for Sony’s rumored TV shows from Marvel. Or would it? Would it instead be confusing for fans to have two different Marvel universe running on the same service? Then we must question whether that really is the case? Is it possible that Sony and Disney are going to get into bed on these future Marvel properties? We just don’t know, but it’s an intriguing detail to speculate over nonetheless.
Could the MCU Spider-Man movies be coming to Disney+? At this point, for the first time, I would not bet against it. Let’s wait and see on this one. What do you think, mistake by the web designer, or hint that Spider-Man is coming to Disney+? Let us know below.
