This year, Marvel Comics will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of their character, Man-Thing. They will be honoring him with a new series that was announced last month. It will kick off in March with Avengers: Curse of the Man-Thing #1. This will be the beginning of a three-part series.

The second part of the series will continue in April with Spider-Man: Curse of the Man-Thing #1. This will be written by critically acclaimed writer Steve Orlando. The artwork will be handled by artist Alberto Foche, who is making his Marvel Comics debut. Marvel Comics has released the regular cover and variant cover for this book by Daniel Acuña and Nick Bradshaw. You can check them out below!

Man-Thing

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: Curse of the Man-Thing #1 provided by Marvel Comics:
Man-Thing’s supernatural abilities have been pirated thanks to the new Marvel villain, Harrower, a zealot intent on clearing humanity off the board so a new species can get a shot at the top. The world burns and fear is the accelerant! Meanwhile, Spider-Man races across New York desperate to avert disaster and find the one man that just might be able to get through to Man-Thing…his former colleague Curt Connors, A.K.A. The Lizard! But deep within the Man-Thing’s psyche, it’s Spider-Man that discovers something he never expected: a devilish secret, and a doctor seeking redemption.

Orland gave also gave us some more insight into what we can expect in the book. “SPIDER-MAN: CURSE OF THE MAN-THING picks up the second, explosive chapter of our anniversary celebration as cities across the world fall prey to Man-Thing’s fire, and the best hope for stopping the blaze rests with not just Spider-Man, but one of this oldest foes: the Lizard,” Orlando said. “What a blast to watch Man-Thing take Manhattan, and to see both Peter Parker and Miles Morales step up to the plate to defend their city against fear!”

It looks like it will be a fun event. Man-Thing is an interesting character and I look forward to seeing him interact with more of the Marvel Universe. Are you looking forward to more man thing? Let us know in the comment section below!
