Breaking Geek Radio: The Podcast is about analyzing geekdom and the things we like: an in-depth examination of movies, television, and culture. Expect reviews, a look at entertainment controversies, and other fun content! This Podcast is a once a week release coming out every Friday!

We missed you last week, Space Cowboy, but hope you had a good Turkey day. Fortunately, we’re back with all the news you need. Jammer (@jamthewriter) is out this week, which leaves the remainder of the Ladtastic 4, Danny (@dannykbartlett), Nick (@geekyNICKDOLL) and Jonesy (@sirjonesiest) react to the latest news out of Hollywood and review Cowboy Bebop and Bruised.

News

First up, the gang revisits Eternals, as the writers reveal that yes, *that* character is in fact dead. We react to what that could mean for future sequels to the franchise and what we’re looking forward to from the Eternals.

Next up, we learn that Latitia Wright, who was initially reported to have minor injuries on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will actually need more time to recover. As a result, the production for the sequel has gone into hiatus. Disney had already pushed the film from July to November of 2022 and it’s still expected to make that release date. Hopefully, Wright makes a speedy recovery.

Spider-Man isn’t done in the MCU. We all new this, but news out of Hollywood from Producer Amy Pascal is that Marvel and Sony are prepping a new trilogy starring Tom Holland. Will they take place in the multiverse or somewhere else? Listen to find out!

Later in the show, our resident gamekeeper, Nick Doll, talks all aspects of his excitement for the Jurassic World: Dominion prologue. Jonesy is muted in his reaction to this footage, as the opening to the last film was great and the remainder of the film’s quality dropped off a cliff.

In the world of Amazon, we’re hearing that the studio is prepping a Mass Effect TV show. Between this, The Wheel of Time, The Expanse and The Lord of the Rings, Amazon is really carving out a place for itself in the world of fantasy and sci-fi. Earlier this year, Henry Cavill hinted he might be involved in the video game turned TV series. Who do you suppose he’s playing?

Trailers

Finally, before the main events, we get a trio of trailers. Super Pets has an absolutely stacked cast, The Matrix: Resurrections déjà vu trailer tries to bring back that old magic and Peacemaker gives us a longer trailer before dropping in January.

In the main event, the Lads talk two Netflix titles: Halle Berry’s Bruised and Cowboy Bebop. The crew discuss the finer points of the film and series. Bruised crushes its premiere and nets Berry a multi flick deal with the streamer.  Will the muted to negative reaction to the divisive Cowboy Bebop mean we’ll be saying “Goodnight, Julia” to the series?
