Creed 2: Michael B. Jordan Had A Harder Time Getting In Boxing Shape This Time Around

Remember back in your 20s when dropping weight was super easy and putting on muscle happened just as quickly as losing it? Yeah, that s**t’s real, and as a man in his 30s, it’s a reality I’m slowly coming to grips with. Well, this reality isn’t restricted to us normies.

Actor Michael B. Jordan, who constantly has to stay in shape due to the numerous roles that require him to walk around without a shirt, recently revealed to IGN that getting into fighting shape for Creed II wasn’t nearly as easy as it was a few years back:

“It was tough on my body this time around cause I’m a little bit older. I’m not saying I’m too far gone, but at 31 things are a lot different than at 26, 27. It’s just getting back into boxing shape. Boxing shape is a different thing. Just spending hours in the gym. Doing the rounds, working on your hand coordination, throwing punches. Diet was a lot stricter on this one; because I had to lean out as much as I could. Yes. It was just more intense this time around.”

Not only did the man have to be in as good of shape as he was in the first film, but he arguably had to look even STRONGER. As we reported previously, his opponent will be none other than Ivan Drago’s son, Viktor, who is set to be portrayed by real-life Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu. This guy looks like he takes no prisoners, and unfortunately for Jordan, we have to believe that he’d be able to take down a brick house like Munteanu.
