Crisis On Infinite Earth Crossovers Will Be Five Episodes And Take Place Over Two Quarters

Are you ready for the ultimate crossover? Yeah, I know, we just had Avengers: Endgame hit, but on the TV front, DC is really dominating on The CW with their handful of shows like Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and very soon, Batwoman. For years, they’ve been crossing them over in multi-night events, and at the end of last year’s crossover, they teased a big one: “Crisis on Infinite Earths.”

Fans of the comic books will instantly recognize that title as “the one with all the deaths including Supergirl and the Flash.” Obviously, there’s no way that happens in this crossover, but they’re definitely reaching for the stars here, which is great. And now, thanks to a recent CW upfronts presentation in New York, we have a couple of details regarding its format.

“Crisis on Infinite Earths” will be a five-hour event that takes place “over two quarters,” ComicBook.com reports. Okay, so what in the hell does that even mean? Well, they speculate it means they will account for the midseason finales of some shows as well as the midseason premieres of some shows. Plus, given that Arrow is only going to be 10 episodes before it shuts its doors for good, it’s likely it could make up the series finale for that series as well (and maybe longterm consequences for that character).

This event will also be much bigger than last year. Last season only saw a crossover between The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl. This time it’ll be those three and the return of Legends of Tomorrow and the addition of Batwoman (though I guess you could argue she was involved, even if she didn’t have a show to cross over from last season).

Given that Batwoman is looking to be more of an origin series. I’m curious as to how the crossover will be worked into the plot of the show. What do you think?
