According to the latest Barside Buzz Daredevil is in Spider-Man 4 and could be joined by Ant-Man. The information comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service. The insider has a good hit rate for Marvel, especially when it relates to Spider-Man specifically. RPK claims that in the current draft of Spider-Man 4 Daredevil has a sizeable role. However, he says there are also plans to bring in a bigger Marvel name like previous movies. He’s also heard one of the top ideas currently at Marvel is to use Ant-Man, aka Scott Lang.

It has long been rumored that Daredevil and perhaps even Kingpin could show up in Spider-Man 4. However, perhaps Sony is looking for a bigger MCU name to help sell their movie? After all, it has worked so far with Iron Man, Nick Fury and Doctor Strange.

Then again, a current draft is not necessarily the final draft. Therefore, I’m sure the script will be tweaked right up until cameras roll. If this movie is more of a street level affair, then Daredevil and Kingpin make a ton of sense. Ant-Man less so, but it depends how Scott is used and whether they can agree a deal with Paul Rudd to appear.

For now, I’d be more confident of the Daredevil part of this rumor and slightly sceptical for now on Ant-Man.

I have big hopes for Spider-Man 4. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the first Spider-Man MCU trilogy and now we get to a college era Peter Parker. Having a more grounded plot feels right for this movie after the craziness of No Way Home. However, it’s not like I’ve seen the script, so I’m only speculating based on the little rumors we have heard.

What I’m hoping for is Kingpin as the big bad, but him using suited characters like Mac Gargan’s Scorpion to go against our heroes. I guess we will find out a but more once filming gets underway, probably by the middle of 2024.
