It case it hasn’t been clear by all the marketing up until this point, Daredevil is going to be DARK. And it makes sense why it’d be dark. The end of Daredevil Season 2 teased Wilson Fisk piecing together the identity of the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, and the end of The Defenders hinted at a world that believed Matt Murdock was dead.

The first teaser we saw featured Matt Murdock in a confessional, seemingly giving up on the law altogether, teasing the possibility of him going full Punisher on us. Now, this new teaser kind of brings it all together. If you somehow have read this far and haven’t checked out the teaser already, I highly recommend you do so.

The teaser starts out with Kingpin suiting up in a slick silver-white suit, and then we pan over to a bloodied Matt Murdock. He tosses a bloody shirt into the fire, along with a bloody shirt before putting on his old-school black bandana and disappearing into the night.

This seems to all be a culmination of everything we’ve seen before. The world thinks Matt is dead, and he seems perfectly willing to let that lie flourish. Meanwhile, you may get the re-rise of the Kingpin, one of the greatest Marvel villains ever, who could be hell-bent on getting revenge on Murdock, which could lead to the famous Frank Miller run of the comics, Born Again, which sees Matt Murdock’s world collapse around him thanks to Kingpin.
