Daredevil Season 3 Teaser Puts Kingpin In The Spotlight

Consider me officially hyped. While no one can really seem to agree on which shows in the Marvel/Netflix-verse are good, which ones are mediocre, and which ones just plain suck (with the exception of Iron Fist Season 1), most seem to largely agree that Daredevil has maintained a relatively high bar of quality. Sure, the end of Season 2 had its turn-offs, but on the whole, it was a solid entry.

That is in no small part due to the strengths of its antagonists, including one Wilson Fisk. In a time where the Marvel Cinematic Universe had terrible villains, Fisk was a breath of fresh air and proof that amazing villains can be done on the small screen. The end of Season 2 saw Fisk potentially realizing Daredevil’s secret identity, and in this new teaser, he seems ready to execute a plan to take the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen down.

The whole thing is given with a terrifying monologue from Kingpin himself that goes as follows:

“Love blinded me. My love for this city. My love for her. And the devil took my throne. My freedom, and everything that mattered. But my eyes are open now, and he’ll never see me coming. So go ahead, let the devil out.”

Needless to say, Kingpin isn’t too happy about Daredevil putting him behind bars and seems ready to take his position as the main villain once again. As possibly one of the best characters in this world, I think we’re also ready to see him return.

Daredevil Season 3 hits Netflix on October 19, 2018.
