Steven DeKnight, showrunner for Daredevil, compared recasting Wilson Fisk to recasting Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man or Chris Evan’s Captain America. DeKnight honored Vincent D’Onofrio’s role as Fisk on a social media post. I absolutely agree. Daredevil was the start of many amazing shows featured on Netflix like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist. Also, thanks to Daredevil, we received other great shows like the spin-off, The Punisher, and crossover, The Defenders.

Recasting @vincentdonofrio as Wilson Fisk would be like trying to recast @RobertDowneyJr as Tony Stark or @ChrisEvans as Steve Rogers. Impossible! https://t.co/Mrv6A8KtPj

A Little About The Show
The show, Daredevil, follows a blind lawyer named Matt Murdock who also happens to be a vigilante in Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Both the Daredevil and Fisk want what they feel is best for New York, but have differing opinions about what that is. Sadly, the show only has 3 seasons and many fans feel it ended too soon
D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, was perfect casting in my opinion. He gave this notorious Marvel villain the power, both physically and financially, that he easily carried. When Fisk entered a room, it was like he owned the room even when it wasn’t his. He was quiet and charming. However, he could have an intense amount of rage and cruelty and D’Onofrio captured that intensity so well. I’m not the only fan who thinks so. D’Onofrio was a fan and critic favorite. He earned a Saturn Award nomination for his role as Fisk.
