DC Universe’s Swamp Thing To Be Directed And Executive Produced By Die Hard 6’s Len Wiseman

Titans may be the big DC Universe show that everyone’s talking about, but it ain’t the only one Warner Bros. TV is hard at work on. As was previously announced, audiences will also be treated to a live-action Swamp Thing series. Though since Swamp Thing is further down the way than Titans, it makes sense that the details were much sparser.

Deadline is reporting some new details regarding the upcoming DC series. According to them, Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman is set to executive produce and direct the first episode of the drama. This is all a part of an overall deal Wiseman has with Warner Bros. TV to develop, produce, and direct for the studio.

In addition to his work on Live Free or Die Hard, Wiseman is also set to direct the upcoming sequel/prequel McClane, which will have both a Bruce Willis-played McClane, and a much younger one. Additionally, Wiseman is perhaps best known for his TV series like The Gifted and Sleepy Hollow, so he clearly knows what he’s doing on that front.

The script for at least the pilot of Swamp Thing comes from Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman. Here’s what the outlet has to say about the show:

Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.”
