Latest on DCU rumors including that Brave and the Bold may be further along than expected, Alan Ritchson was up for Deathstroke and more on Adria Arjona’s mystery character. Let’s get started with the latest from Jeff Sneider on this week’s The Hot Mic.

First off Sneider says DC Studios are further along with Batman: The Brave and the Bold than people think and are looking to begin production by 2027. However, whilst co-host John Rocha insists his sources say Andy Muschietti is off the film, Sneider hasn’t heard anything about that.

Greg Mottola is not directing the Deathstroke/Bane movie after previously being in talks for it according to Sneider. The leaker also says he’s heard Alan Ritchson was up for the role of Deathstroke in that film, but it didn’t pan out.

This rumor was backed after this show by ApocHorseman.

Oh and Sneider says he’s heard James Gunn recently re-upped his contract as head of DC Studios.

Finally today, let’s talk some more about Adria Arjona and who she is playing in Man of Tomorrow. The trades told us she was playing Maxima, and yet in this recent article from Deadline, who first declared Maxima was the role, they make no mention of that name when discussing her role in Man of Tomorrow.

The article they reference is a chat Arjona had with Screen Rant and here’s how they worded it.

Arjona just kicked off filming on the highly anticipated DCU movie Man of Tomorrow. While it’s been reported that Arjona is playing Maxima in James Gunn’s Superman sequel, there were also rumors that she’d be portraying Wonder Woman. While Arjona wasn’t able to clarify her Man of Tomorrow character, she gave us some insight into the training process she’s been undergoing for the role:

“I have muscles that I’ve never had in my life. I’m training two to three hours a day on a crazy diet. Drinking coffee is the only thing that keeps me up. And I’m really excited!”

So she would not clarify her role and then the trade that said she was Maxima does not even mention this in their coverage. Hmm? Why not just clarify this one like always James Gunn? Why not allow Arjona to talk about her character when the rest of the cast can?

Because I reckon she’s playing Wonder Woman, that’s why.

Leave any thoughts on today’s DCU rumors in the usual spot below.
