Deadpool 2: Fox Made Ryan Reynolds And Co. Cut A Disney Joke

As raunchy and ridiculous as Deadpool can get, it turns out even he has a censor of sorts — and that censor comes in the form of the studio for which the film is made. Yes, we love the idea of him having no boundaries, but I guess there are some limits, and while filming the upcoming film, it looks like they hit that limit.

Deadpool 2 star and producer Ryan Reynolds recently sat down with EW, and in the interview, he admits that there was a specific joke that didn’t make the final cut at the studio.

“This is a sore spot for me because there’s a joke in the movie that is not in the movie now because — I’m probably not even allowed to say this — Fox made me take it out. It had more to do with Disney, and they made me take it out. As I look back at it, I think maybe that was a wise decision.”

I have to wonder just how recently that joke was cut. Was it something that was cut back when dailies first hit or was it something that came or did it come later. Plus, was it something that was a result of the Disney-Fox deal or something different altogether.

Either way, it looks like that cut was for the best — at least from a business perspective. However, Despite that cut, the outlet reports that a running Frozen gag still made it through. I suppose we’ll never know what was cut.
