We have some Star Wars Barside Buzz around Episode X, rumored to be casting one female and one male co-lead, with Daisy Ridley’s Rey as a mentor. Plus, a few more potential details on these lead roles as well. The first mention of the two lead roles came from Daniel RPK on his Patreon.
This was backed up both by FivesWalker,
This is true – they’re looking for male and female actors in their early – mid 20’s. I think the aim to is to find unknowns. But casting has been underway for a little bit now. https://t.co/8LeZnbURtX

Fives also had a few other details to share about both lead roles.
Episode X will have duo leads like Finn and Rey. Their dynamic is very much that archetype, but with a more clearly defined romantic component

Male lead comes from a harsh orphaned background just like Rey and is swept up into the story after being implicated in a killing

Female lead comes from high society, a perfectionist. Royalty. She and the male lead are caught up in a big adventure together, with her bringing him into the larger "world's stage" of Star Wars characters we know

Daniel was the only one who mentioned Rey being in the mentor role. Which did make me think of the rumors we heard for the Rey Sequel that was supposed to be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. That was also supposed to feature a male and female lead and have Rey in a mentor role. I’ve often assumed any of those ideas would have been folded into Kinberg’s larger trilogy, so it does make some sense.
As per the related section above, one could maybe imagine Pierre taking one of those slots. However, the rumors say they are looking for younger leads in their 20’s and since this is set after Starfighter, Pierre’s character would presumably be too established. If that rumor is even true, which we wait to see?
Well, what do you think of these rumored details on the co-leads of Star Wars Episode X? Leave any thoughts below.
