Deadpool 2 Trailer: Deadpool, Meet Cable

We should have seen this coming. After a couple days of marketing in the form of posters and viral sites, a new trailer for The Untitled Deadpool Sequel seemed inevitable. Now, 20th Century Fox has released just that — but don’t expect your average, ordinary trailer. That ain’t the Deadpool way.

It starts out with a very serious look at one of its new leads, Cable, played by Josh Brolin. He’s grizzled, scarred, and mentally tormented. We stop partway through due to unfinished visual effects, and Deadpool takes over, showing off the scene in toy form while the effects finish. Once they do, we get another 45 seconds of footage or so, and as we hoped, it looks like a lot of fun.

Also of note is their avoiding actually giving the film a title. This would lend some credence to the idea that they’re not going for Deadpool 2 as a title, but The Untitled Deadpool Sequel.

The official synopsis for The Untitled Deadpool Sequel is below:

“After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.”
