Today we share a Deadpool 3 update from Ryan Reynolds in a recent interview with Collider. Whilst Reynolds is sitting on the fence a little he does give the movie a fighting chance to begin filming sometime in 2022. Of course, Deadpool 3 will be a little different and for that reason I think I am more hyped for this one than I was the previous movies. Fess up, I’m not that big a fan of Deadpool or his first two movies. However this will be a fully integrated into the MCU version of Deadpool and for that reason alone my interest is piqued.
Here is Reynolds discussing the possibility of Deadpool 3 filming next year.
“The percentage chance? I don’t know. I couldn’t assign a percentage to that. I’d say it’s 50/50 maybe? We’re really actively developing it and getting it into pretty good shape. What the hell month is it? August? Oh next year? Probably pretty damn good. I’d say 70%.”
A year and a half to start filming, it’s definitely doable. Rumors are that Marvel is currently on the search for a director. The scripting process is happening right now.
“It’s something that is just a daily process. Writing is kind of like that, you’ve gotta allot time to do it and walk away, and I’m working with the Molyneuxs on it, it’s been great. They’re incredibly talented and so, so smart. They so understand that world and know how to zig when everyone’s expecting a zag, so it’s been a lot of fun.”
For what it’s worth I enjoyed Deadpool 2 more than the first movie. However neither are the type of movie I would watch more than once. I guess my idea of comedy is not really Deadpool and I’m not a huge comedy fan as it is. Well, I’m British, so I prefer sarcastic and satirical comedy as opposed to the American style for the most part. Not always though.
