Deadpool’s Morena Baccarin Unsure If She’d Want Vanessa To Turn Into Copycat

While we live in a world of shared universes, there are some movie franchises that mostly seem to work because of their ability to focus wholly on the main character. For me, there is no better example of this than the Deadpool films. Both focus completely on him, and even when they attempt to bring in the X-Force, everything always comes back to the personal level.

However, even within this franchise, there is room to change things up a bit. At the center of the films has been the relationship between Wade Wilson and Vanessa, and yet fans know her character has the potential to become the character of Copycat. But if we do get a third chance in Deadpool’s world, what would Morena Baccarin like to see? Vanessa or Copycat?

“I don’t know. I mean, I love both of those ideas. If you do Copycat, then you do mess up the relationship between Wade and Vanessa a little bit, because I think that at that point they were kind of at odds, but maybe there’s an opportunity there to make it a little bit different. It would be fun to see her transform for sure, but I would just be thrilled to come back in any form for those movies because it was such a blast to work on.”

In the past, Ryan Reynolds has made comments that you can only strip away Deadpool’s life so many times before it starts to get old. In both films, Vanessa was taken away in different ways. Could her foray into Mutant-dom be how they extend this story for a third time? or must they go a different way, for fear of growing stale?
