Today we share what is potentially a description of a Lord of the Rings show battle between Numenoreans and Orcs from Fellowship of Fans. It is hardly shocking to hear there would be some kind of battle against Orcs given the setting. However, if you want to be completely fresh going into Amazon’s as yet untitled The Lord of the Rings TV show, maybe skip past this one. In my opinion, there is nothing here which would even register on my Spoiler scale. However we all have different scales, so bear that in mind.
Below is a series of social media posts from Fellowship of Fans who seems to be one of few insiders leaking anything from this show.
EXCLUSIVE: The same Númenóreans will attack/ besiege a castle/ castle set which is occupied with orcs.
The set had dead fake horses, smoke and fire.
It is unsure whether this castle/ stronghold is an orc castle or being currently occupied by orcs.

EXCLUSIVE: The numenorian army included some “royal knights” who wore shiny armour with white capes, some being red/ blue. Along with polished steel boots and sometimes a leather chest piece.

Seemed like the main character at these sets was a “dirty white blonde price”. Whether a Prince is unconfirmed

As said above, there is nothing dramatic here that was unexpected. What we don’t quite know so far is exactly when the show begins within Tolkien’s Second Age. One would assume the battles may take place after Sauron has been revealed, but perhaps not? It could be that the Numernorean’s encounter Orcs that are not seemingly led by any one figure. There remained Orcs before Sauron gathered them towards himself after all. It’s just unlikely they’d be too much of a force, but again that depends on when this show is set. Those Orcs depending on the year, could be already led by what become the Ring Wraiths in time for example.

My guess though is that Sauron won’t be revealed too early and the show will be about the creation of the Rings of Power initially. In that case, I do expect any Orcs to be swept aside easily by superior Numenorean soldiers. After all, there comes a point later in this Age, where Sauron at the height of his powers and with the One Ring on his finger still has to surrender to superior Numenorean forces. However that’s not till nearer the end of the age and I can’t see that being where things begin.
