Desperate Riders Trailer Has Trace Adkins As An Evil Outlaw

Trace Adkins in Desperate Riders

For many years, country music singer Trace Adkins graced us with his singing voice. On the acting side, he had quite a filmography, particularly with western films. In the latest western indie Desperate Riders, he shows off his villainous side as a ruthless outlaw.

Here is the official synopsis:

In this western starring Tom Berenger and Trace Adkins, the action begins as Kansas Red (Drew Waters) rescues young Billy from a card-game shootout. The boy asks Red for help protecting his family from the outlaw Thorn (Adkins), who’s just kidnapped Billy’s mother, Carol. As Red and Billy ride off to rescue, Carol, they run into beautiful, tough-as-nails Leslie, who’s managed to escape Thorn’s men. The three-race to stop Thorn’s wedding to Carol with guns blazing—but does she want to be rescued?

Admittingly, there are double takes with singers in acting roles. With country singers, however, they manage to perform very well in western roles or dramatic roles. With Trace Adkins, he established himself in western roles—especially of late with indie westerns like Apache Junction, Old Henry, Badland, and The Outsider. All those westerns were released in the past couple of years. Thus, Trace Adkins has established himself in this genre. Hopefully, we’ll see him soon in the new western series 1883 with fellow country singers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Desperate Riders is in select theaters and On Demand on February 25.
