Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock

Looks like the Fraggles are back to their song and dance on Apple TV+ with Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock.

After the success of Fraggle Rock: Rock On! shorts last year, Apple TV+ ordered full-length episodes to explore their universe in a series format.

It was one of the concepts hatched back in the 1980s from Jim Henson Productions that combined plenty of singing puppets.

The fun-loving Fraggles include Gobo, Red, Boober, Mokey, Wembley, and Uncle Travelling Matt. The new Fraggles and Doozers are voiced by guest stars, including Patti LaBelle, Cynthia Erivo, Daveed Diggs, Ed Helms, and Kenan Thompson. There will also be an appearance by the Foo Fighters in this inaugural season.

Matt Fusfeld and Alex Cuthbertson serve as the showrunner for the series, along with executive producers from The Jim Henson Company’s Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford.

Personally, I never got into the Fraggles back in my own childhood never understanding what these alien creatures are or their singing personalities. As I’m a bit older, I can see how this may be an interesting story concept for children with catchy singing dialogues.

All thirteen episodes of the new Apple Original series with Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock make their debut on Friday, January 21 on Apple TV+.

Fraggle Rock: Rock On! shorts, Down at Fraggle Rock bonus special, Doozer Music, and Fraggle Songs are now all streaming on Apple TV+.
