Disney Animator Dan Lund and Nina West Team Up For ‘Quarantine Dream’

Quarantine Dream

Who would have believed that the week of Thanksgiving (and beyond) we would still be dealing with lockdowns? As we have reported these last few months these shutdowns have really hurt the movie industry. From the studios to the movie theaters that show the films. Some people have taken this time to be creative.

One great example is the team of Drag icon Nina West and Walt Disney Studios’ animator Dan Lund. They have come together for a made-at-home musical short, Quarantine Dream. It sends the message that your imagination can lead you anywhere. Allowing you to have adventures no matter what the circumstance. You can check it out below!

The original song Quaranite Dream comes from Mark Byers, West, Lund, and Patricia Taylor. The music video was shot during the first week of the initial lockdown way back in March of this year. It was filmed safely with West recording on her iPhone in Columbus, Ohio. While Lund directed via Zoom from Burbank, California.

“When I first reached out to Nina, I had no idea what we were going to make!” said Dan Lund “I just knew I wanted it to feel joyful and have that Magical Disney feel! It became so much more than what we set out to do. It became a metaphor for any feeling of isolation and how we have the power to create and execute anything our hearts desire without barriers. It made us feel good to make and now we hope it can bring that same feeling of joy, positivity, and hope to you at home!”

“I feel like I am my very own self-made Disney princess of sorts now!” said Nina West. “I mean, Mary Poppins and Bert got to dance with penguins, and thanks to Dan, I get to dance with bubbles. It is so wonderful and beautiful!”

This is a great example of creativity. Despite the fact that we are all taking precautions by staying at home, that doesn’t mean that we stop working on our crafts. Yes, it is true that we may have to adapt and adjust the way we work, but that is the beauty of creativity. When there is a will there is a way.
