Looks like Disney is on a bit of a dating spree right now. This past Friday, they announced the release dates of untitled Marvel films for their upcoming slate, and these dates join a whole myriad of other ones set for future. Including the new dates, we are now seeing the MCU through 2023, and with that a further escalation of a number of films per year.
The new dates are as follows: October 7 in 2022, and February 17, May 5, July 28, and November 3 of 2023. That’s a whole lotta new dates, but what does this mean for their complete schedule. Let’s have a look see at the film schedule (ignoring the Disney+ shows):
Black Widow – May 1, 2020
The Eternals – November 6, 2020
Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – February 12, 2021
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – May 7, 2021
Spider-Man 3 – July 16, 2021
Thor: Love and Thunder – November 5, 2021
Untitled – February 18, 2022
Black Panther 2 – May 6, 2022
Untitled – July 29, 2022
Untitled – October 7, 2022
Untitled – February 17, 2023
Untitled – May 5, 2023
Untitled – July 28, 2023
Untitled – November 3, 2023

So that means we will be getting 14 films over the course of four years, which is an average of over three films per year — and that’s not even including the Disney+ shows!
Clearly, the success of Avengers: Endgame has emboldened them to keep on going, and the ongoing story of the MCU will continue on pretty much forever, for better and worse.
Any predictions as to what the new titles will entail? We do know about movies like Blade, Guardians 3, and Ant-Man 3 likely occupying these spots, but what about the others? Let us know your thoughts down below!
