disney fox merger

Who would have thought that Disney would have ever actually been interested in purchasing the majority of the company, 21st Century Fox? But here we are. After weeks of buzz and speculation, it sounds like that deal is incredibly close to happening.

In fact, the folks over at CNBC are now saying that we can likely expect an announcement on the deal on Thursday.

As previously reported, this deal looks to see Disney purchasing most of 21st Century Fox for a figure in the neighborhood of $60 billion. No, I didn’t add another zero to that by accident. $60 billion. While the actual number isn’t set in stone just yet, that’s likely in the same ballpark of what the final deal will end up being.

This would would mean that Disney owns all of Fox’s movie and TV assets — in addition to some affiliate sports networks — and all that’ll be left of Fox will be its news and sports assets.

This report comes after Comcast dropped out of conversations with Fox, and will see some big properties come under the Disney fold, including Avatar and X-Men.

Flight Club the musical would work…. there’s already American Psycho the musical. I would love to know how to make frame slicing penises work on stage.

Fox turned into a hardcore sex channel so gradually i didn’t even notice…

I wonder if that means we can get the OT un-lucasfied. Imagine the OT on Blu-ray with only cleaned sound and picture. No special edition changes!

40 billion sounds a lot less then I imagined, I went through the entire catalog and there’s a lot. I do believe we will learn a cable company bought out a lot more so they could sell it off of their own services. about 99% of the films released after 1999 were produced by another studio….. kinda did show how in the shit they were, I was surprised to see Touchtone still alive to work on Lincoln, but that’s my reaction when I see the Amblin logo.
Buffy and Firefly are part of this deal. So Whedon should be happy.

Can we finally get a decent Fantastic Four film now?
