Disney Parks ‘Galaxy’s Edge’ Star Wars Lands Get An Opening Time Frame

Opening dates for Disney’s Star Wars land, Galaxy’s Edge, has been announced. The planet Battu, which is described as a, “gateway planet located on the outer rim, full of places and characters familiar and not so familiar,” will be the featured location for the new areas of the parks.

The plan is for Galaxy’s Edge to open up next summer, with the Disneyland version opening before Disneyworld, which is likely to have a release later next year, during the fall. The Star Wars areas of the parks will have two main attractions, one will put parkgoers into the middle of a battle between the Resistance and The First Order, and the other will put guests in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.

Comprised on a lot of 14 acres, Battu is said to be, “occupied by many inhabitants; humanoids, aliens, and droids … the attractions, the entertainment, everything we create will be part of our storytelling. Nothing will be out of character or stray from the mythology.”

I haven’t been to Disneyland in years, and never to Disneyworld. If anything will make me save up for a trip to one of the parks, it’s a section of the parks that have been made specifically for Star Wars.
