Disney Reportedly Allowing Jeremy Renner To Continue Playing Hawkeye In MCU

Accusations can be a dicey thing in any industry, but it’s especially dicey in the entertainment industry, where a lot of the talent already gets a lot of attention in public. Under the wrong circumstances, a huge corporation may choose to sever ties with the talent just for fear of public backlash. That was the potential with actor Jeremy Renner, who faced allegations from his ex-wife that painted him in a not-so-flattering light.

The accusations were pretty appalling, and given their nature, one could almost not blame Disney for wanting to distance themselves, but according to a new report from the Independent, the House of Mouse has decided to allow Renner to appear in future Marvel projects, though they did consider recasting.

Of course, this could all change if the accusations against Renner end up being true (or at least convicted as such), but until then, it sounds like things will continue, business as usual for Renner within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
