Today, Disney+ introduced the creative team behind Lucasfilm’s eagerly awaited Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series in a roundtable video that gave fans a glimpse into the making of the space-adventure epic. The panel featured head writers and executive producers Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, joined by a lineup of award-winning directors including Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Schreier, David Lowery, and others.
The series, launching December 3 exclusively on Disney+, follows the story of four children who stumble upon a life-altering discovery on their quiet home planet. As they navigate the perils of an unknown galaxy, they encounter unexpected allies and formidable enemies, embarking on an odyssey to find their way back home.
Watts and Ford assembled a team of directors to bring their vision to life. In addition to Watts, who helmed Episodes 101 and 108, the series boasts contributions from:
- David Lowery, acclaimed for his work on The Green Knight and Peter Pan & Wendy, directed Episodes 102 and 103.
- Bryce Dallas Howard, a veteran of the Star Wars universe with episodes of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, directed Episode 106.
- Jake Schreier, known for the Emmy®-winning Beef and the upcoming Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts, directed Episode 105.
- Lee Isaac Chung, whose breakout film Minari garnered critical acclaim, directed Episode 107.
- The Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), the visionary duo behind Everything Everywhere All at Once, directed Episode 104.
The series features a talented ensemble cast led by Jude Law, joined by Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Nick Frost.

Executive producers Watts and Ford are joined by Star Wars veterans Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, along with Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. The co-executive producers include Chris Buongiorno, Karen Gilchrist, and Carrie Beck. The production team is rounded out by Susan McNamara and John Bartnicki.
During the roundtable, the filmmakers shared their inspirations and creative insights, shedding light on what makes Skeleton Crew a unique entry in the Star Wars universe.
