Disney+ has unveiled a teaser trailer for its upcoming original series, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” The trailer gives viewers a sneak peek into the epic journey that awaits Percy Jackson, Grover Underwood, and Annabeth Chase, played by Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, and Leah Sava Jeffries, respectively. The highly-anticipated series is scheduled to make its debut on December 20, with a thrilling two-episode premiere, followed by weekly releases.
The eight-episode series promises an action-packed adventure with a star-studded cast. Some of the guest stars can be spotted in the newly released teaser trailer, including Lin-Manuel Miranda as “Hermes,” Megan Mullally as “Alecto” (also known as “Mrs. Dodds”), Toby Stephens portraying “Poseidon,” and Virginia Kull as “Sally Jackson.” The cast also boasts talents like Jason Mantzoukas as “Dionysus” (aka “Mr. D”), Jay Duplass as “Hades,” Glynn Turman as “Chiron” (aka “Mr. Brunner”), the late Lance Reddick as “Zeus,” Adam Copeland as “Ares,” Charlie Bushnell as “Luke Castellan,” Dior Goodjohn as “Clarisse La Rue,” Jessica Parker Kennedy as “Medusa,” Olivea Morton as “Nancy Bobofit,” Suzanne Cryer as “Echidna,” Timm Sharp as “Gabe Ugliano,” and Timothy Omundson as “Hephaestus.”
The first two episodes of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” are penned by none other than Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg. The series is directed by James Bobin and boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Steinberg and Dan Shotz, alongside Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström, and Jet Wilkinson.
