Disney+ Unveils Two Films For Earth Day: Tiger And Tigers On The Rise

Disney+ is set for this upcoming Earth Day, April 22, 2024, with the release of two highly films that will educate and inspire viewers about the majestic world of tigers.

The first film, “Tiger,” marks the return of Disneynature to the streaming platform exactly 15 years after its inaugural release, “Earth.” Narrated by the esteemed Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the documentary takes audiences on a gripping journey into the heart of India’s legendary forests, where a young tigress named Ambar navigates the challenges of raising her cubs amidst threats from pythons, bears, and rival male tigers.

Expressing her excitement about the project, Chopra Jonas stated, “It’s just wonderful to be able to be a part of something so special and to tell the story of this magnificent animal that comes from my country—I was very honored. I have always loved tigers and I feel a kinship with the female tiger—I feel very protective of my family. Ambar’s journey is something I think every mom would really relate to.”

This documentary celebrates the resurgence of tiger populations, highlighting the challenges faced as these big cats venture beyond their traditional habitats into farms and villages.

Directed by Rob Sullivan, with co-direction by Alistair Tones, “Tigers on the Rise” showcases the efforts of veterinarians, scientists, and community patrols dedicated to fostering coexistence between humans and tigers.

Both films, produced by a talented team including Linfield, Berlowitz, and Roy Conli, promise to be must-watch experiences for nature enthusiasts and families alike. With their release on Earth Day, Disney+ continues its commitment to providing engaging and informative content that celebrates the beauty and diversity of our planet’s wildlife.
