Disney’s Alan Horn Vague On What Happens Next For Star Wars After Episode IX

Star Wars fans have been wondering what comes next for the movie theaters after Episode 9 releases this December.

We know there are plans for a trilogy by Rian Johnson, director and writer of The Last Jedi, though perhaps some fans are less than excited by that one. First of all, it seems like Game of Thrones writer/producers Benioff and Weiss will be getting a crack at what also appears to be a trilogy, but we really don’t know anything solid. So it’s no wonder when THR caught up with Disney Film chief Alan Horn, that he was asked about what comes next for Star Wars.

However, don’t get too excited because Horn dodged any specifics in the question and simply said.

“It’s all in discussion.”

It really does seem like everything has been taken back to the drawing board with regards to Star Wars at Disney. The majority of the movies we thought we would be getting are now rumored to be heading instead to Disney + as limited series. We already have The Mandalorian, which seems to have taken many elements from the proposed Boba Fett movie. We also have rumor of many others starring the likes Obi-Wan Kenobi, and possibly even characters from Solo getting their own shows from what were once movie ideas.

It’s pretty clear that Disney is a long way from ready to reveal any plans they have for new Star Wars movies. I wouldn’t expect to hear anything until after Episode 9 has come and gone in all honesty, though maybe we will hear more about the Disney+ plans before long?

What would you like to see next from the Star Wars franchise in movies? Lets us hear your ideas in the usual place below.
