Disney+ High Profile Star Wars And Marvel Series Have Newly-Revealed Release Windows

Ike Perlmutter says he was fired from Disney, not laid off in a recent interview. To quote Jeremy Clarkson, "Oh no!........ Anyway."

New Marvel and Star Wars release details are here!

Understandably, Disney and Lucasfilm have kept things pretty close to the chest when it comes to their upcoming Disney+ shows. They have announced the development of the Cassian Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi series, but they’ve offered very little official information beyond that. Even while they’ve confirmed the delay of production on the Obi-Wan series, they haven’t revealed the actual release date. As such, we have no idea if the delay will actually affect its release.

And can you blame them? Viewers get upset enough as it is when they don’t know the dates. Imagine if they have to actually push it back thanks to some unforeseen issue? With a franchise as polarizing as Star Wars, you have to be careful with how you share information. It’s because of that that I’m a bit surprised with this latest bit of information.

Disney+ France has issued a press release detailing the future of the streaming service. In, they list the Cassian Andor series as having a 2021 release and Obi-Wan Kenobi as a nebulous “and also” listing. Yes, sadly, there is no real date given for the series — not even a 2022 window, though I suppose that’s still a possibility.

Those weren’t the only reveals though. We also got release windows for the MCU series. Up first in 2020 we have The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision. In spite of the coronavirus pandemic, it looks like they are staying on course with those releases. Loki and What If…? are then slated for 2021 on unspecified dates. 2022 has Hawkeye on track, and it’s not alone. It also has the likes of Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk, meaning we could have four series that year.

Of course, as we know, all of this is still subject to change. The film industry is an unpredictable beast, and given how off-kilter the entire world is right now, I doubt it’ll help in its predictability.
