Disney’s Upcoming Live Action Adaptation Of Lady And The Tramp Graces The D23 Cover

Every year, Disney holds its D23 expo, introducing the future projects they have in development. This year, the hype is especially high with the Mouse House unveiling their Disney+ streaming service in November. Of the numerous projects Disney has coming down the pipe, one is the live-action adaptation of the Disney animated classic Lady And The Tramp.

Gracing the cover of the D23 magazine is the two rescue dogs used for the film, voiced by Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok, Creed II) and Justin Theroux (The Leftovers, The Girl On The Train). Thompson and Theroux sat down with D23 magazine to discuss the film. One of the special, behind-the-scenes aspects of the film is that each rescue dog used in the film found a home after production ended. Sam Elliott (A Star Is Born), Janelle Monáe (Hidden Figures), and Yvette Nicole Brown (Avengers: Endgame, NBC’s Community) round out the main cast. The film is directed by Charlie Bean (The LEGO Ninjago Movie), based off a screenplay by Andrew Bujalski (Support The Girls, Results).

At the D23 Expo, taking place later this month, Disney plans to present a sneak peek for Lady And The Tramp, amongst the numerous expected announcements to come. The first-ever Star Wars series The Mandalorian, headed by Disney/Marvel favorite Jon Favreau, and anything else Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios has planned for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are two of those highly anticipated projects.

Lady And The Tramp is expected to premiere on Disney+ on November 12th.
