The Marvel Universe is on the brink of unprecedented change as Doctor Doom seizes control of the entire world in One World Under Doom, a landmark event series launching in February. Following last year’s dramatic Blood Hunt arc, where Doom claimed the title of Sorcerer Supreme, this new storyline sees the infamous Latverian ruler tightening his grip on Earth’s fate. This nine-issue series, penned by Fantastic Four writer Ryan North and brought to life with artwork by X-Men illustrator R.B. Silva, promises to delve into Doom’s ironclad rule and the heroes’ desperate struggle to resist his influence.
Formally unveiled at New York Comic Con last month, One World Under Doom has been anticipated, with teasers hinting at a world where Doctor Doom stands unchallenged. The series will showcase the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and other beloved Marvel characters as they attempt a daring resistance against Doom’s rule. Previewed variant covers for One World Under Doom #1 feature the work of celebrated artists like John Tyler Christopher, Nick Bradshaw, and Rod Reis, with brand-new interior artwork showing Marvel’s heroes uniting for their first strike against Doom’s global reign.
The storyline unfolds six months after Doom mysteriously retreated behind Latveria’s borders following his ascension as Sorcerer Supreme. Now, he has re-emerged with a declaration of sovereignty, announcing himself as Emperor of the World and uniting all nations under a “New United Latveria.” With global leaders inexplicably endorsing his rule, the only ones standing in his way are Earth’s remaining heroes. But as Doom’s influence grows, even some civilians and officials begin to welcome his rule, complicating the heroes’ resistance.

Ryan North shared his excitement for the ambitious event: “One World Under Doom is a story I’ve been working on since 2023. With this extensive prep, we’ve had the chance to plan out every aspect and ensure other books can naturally tie into this new status quo.” He emphasized that Doom’s rise to power will reshape the Marvel Universe and challenge each character to confront the terrifying question: now that Doom has seized global control, what does he intend to do with it?
For artist R.B. Silva, working on Doom’s story feels like a personal achievement. “Doom is one of my favorite Marvel characters, and it’s thrilling to introduce magic into his storyline,” Silva said. “This element adds a new dimension to Doom’s presence. I want fans to experience something different and powerful through this arc.”
Beyond the familiar hero-villain conflict, One World Under Doom adds a twist by exploring Doom’s cunning, almost inevitable path to power. North explained, “Doom isn’t just a villain you can punch into submission; he’s calculated every step of this takeover. Part of the thrill for readers will be uncovering how he brought the world to its knees—and, of course, how Marvel’s greatest heroes plan to topple his rule.”
The series also promises to include some of Marvel’s most audacious twists, with North hinting at a “tyrannosaurus rex version of Doctor Doom” making an appearance, setting the tone for a creative, high-stakes saga. The storyline’s scope has already drawn comparisons to 2008’s Dark Reign, setting up One World Under Doom as a game-changing event that will extend across Marvel’s entire comic lineup with tie-in series and standalone issues.
