Doctor Strange Director & Writer Working On New Project Together, Could It Be Doctor Strange 2?

It’s been well over a year since the time-bending superhero Doctor Strange, and while its box office haul would make it seem like a Doctor Strange 2 is inevitable, there’s been no real talk about when that could be or who it could involve.

However, does a recent tweet from Doctor Strange co-writer C. Robert Cargill and director Scott Derrickson hint at a sequel?

A recent tweet from the writer said:

“I’m never happier than when I’m deep into a project and everything is firing on all cylinders. That’s exactly what’s going on with me and @scottderrickson right now. It’s been amazing saddling back up with him and writing together again.”

Following up on that tweet, Derrickson said:

“The feeling is so very mutual, my brother.”

But could this mean they’re working on the Doctor Strange sequel? Yes, it could, but I’m not sure how likely that is. For starters, Marvel Studios is very protective of their brands, and we doubt they’d allow a Twitter interaction like this prior to a real announcement.

More than likely, the pair enjoyed working together on Doctor Strange, and are excited to collaborate once again on a new project. What that new project is remains to be seen.
