Donald Glover was already the man. But now, Donald Glover gets to play THE man himself, the coolest son of a gun in the entire galaxy, Lando Calrissian.
Star Wars recently released a video going behind the scenes on Solo: A Star Wars Story, featuring interviews with stars Alden Ehrenreich, who plays Han Solo, and Donald Glover.
Donald Glover discussed the prep he did to bring back one of the most iconic sci-fi characters of all time:
“The day I found out I got it, I bought like a whole pizza, went home, and watched Empire Strikes Back. That was definitely the beginning, but then I just watched a bunch of other cool ’70s stuff that I thought would be his kind of style.”
This kind of style, Mr. Glover?
Though I’m growing more and more excited for Solo: A Star Wars Story, the one element I have never been worried about is Donald Glover as Lando. Glover is an excellent actor with great dramatic chops and expert comedic timing, not to mention all the charm and more it takes to bring Lando to life, already making him the highlight of the trailers.
