As man of you already know, writer/director Drew Goddard is hard at work on the X-Force film. When exactly we will see that film remains a mystery as no official release date has been set. Goddard recently spoke with CinemaBlend and spoke about how he prefers to work on one project at a time.
“It’s a good question. I’ve learned I’m very much a one-movie-at-a-time kind of guy, and they all know. It’s the same studio, which is nice, so they can say, ‘Okay, get [Bad Times At The El Royale] done,’ and then once I get this movie done and get this into theaters we’ll turn our attention that way.”

From what Goddard had to say above, it seems likely he will start production on X-Force sometime later this year as his upcoming film, Bad Times At The El Royale, will be released in October. With no official word on a third Deadpool movie, Goddard’s X-Force film may be the next time we get to see the Merc with the Mouth on screen. And as you can read about in the related section just above, the X-Force film will likely focus on Deadpool, Domino, and Cable, but I’m sure we’ll also have some new recruits mixed in there somewhere.
Goddard is of course no stranger to the superhero genre, credited as creatorof the highly acclaimed Netflix series, Daredevil, and was also working on a Sinister Six film for Sony before the project was scrapped.
