To kids of the ’80s and ‘90s, the Disney cartoon series DuckTales was nothing short of revelation. In a time replete with adventure films like The Goonies and Indiana Jones, DuckTales was a show that managed to scratch a certain itch on the TV front. Sure, it didn’t quite live up to the former films in terms of spectacle and grandeur, but it was a more-than-worthy substitute for those of us who couldn’t get enough of high adventure.
For those (somehow) unfamiliar, DuckTales was a cartoon that followed Scrooge McDuck and his great-nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Some of the episodes consisted of Scrooge trying to protect his excessive wealth, but a great many also feature Scrooge and the gang heading around the world for various escapades, that often result in an interesting series of conflicts.
Well, like many previously-beloved series, DuckTales is being picked up for a revival series on Disney XD. According to EW, the series is set to hit the network summer of 2017. This news came at the same time as a fun new teaser.

In addition to the teaser, EW also shared a brand new banner image, which shows off the spiffy new art direction for the revival (pictured at the top).
The first season of DuckTales is set to consist of 21 half-hour episodes in addition to two one-hour specials (which I’m assuming will bookend the season). While this is undoubtedly a show that is set to appeal to wide audiences, I have a suspicion that man-childs like me will make up a sizable audience for this show (not unlike much of Gravity Falls’ audience). Between the heaping amounts of nostalgia and fun adventures, old and new fans are sure to enjoy their visit back to Duckburg.
