The future of Hollywood is fantasy. I’ve been beating that drum for a while now, and the stars have aligned to bring us plenty of premium fantasy content on the regular. Not only has the technology now become as affordable as ever to bring these fantastical worlds to the big and small screens, but the mainstream has had its eyes open to the possibilities of what kind of stories can be told.

We recently had an announcement for a new Magic: The Gathering animated series on Netflix, but one other property that’s been in constant development for God knows how long is Dungeons and Dragons. Yes, I know, we’ve had that wonderful film from 2000 that spawned two sequels at the turn of this decade. Wait, sorry. I meant “wonderful,” in quotes. It was actually garbage.

Well, fans are hungry for a better take on the property. More specifically, one YouTube channel (Darth Blender) is looking back at the ’80s cartoon series Dungeons and Dragons for inspiration, and has thrown together a sizzle reel of what they want to see from a new show. In the trailer, they pull from various other fantasy trailers in addition to some audio from the old cartoon.

While we know this doesn’t exactly fit the bill for the overall quality of a show like this (I mean, some of those promos they pull from look super campy), does it capture the feeling you want? Let us know your thoughts down below!
