The People’s Champion. “The most electrifying man in all of entertainment.” For over two decades, Dwayne Johnson has held many titles throughout his multifaceted career. From college football to professional wrestling to both the big and small screens, Johnson has made a financially successful living as one of the big actor/producers currently in the business.
And now, he can add another title to his list: 2019 NAACP Image Award nominee.
Tuesday evening, Johnson shared with his Instagram followers some exciting news. He and his HBO series Ballers have been nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Comedy Series for the upcoming 51st annual NAACP Image Awards. Check out his post below.

While Johnson has been nominated for this category before in the past, he has yet to win it. However, he was awarded Entertainer of the Year at the event back in 2017. Ballers, a four-time Emmy nominee and HBO’s highest-rated half-hour series, was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2018. Additionally, Johnson’s costars John David Washington (Tenet, BlacKkKlansman) and Omar Benson Miller (Miracle At St. Anna, 8 Mile) have been nominated in previous years for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
The 51st annual NAACP Image Awards will air live on Saturday, February 22nd on BET.
